Harlem Hops

New York, NY

Public sourceBlack-owned · Public source

Harlem Hops is a craft beer bar on Adam Clayton Powell Jr Boulevard, self-funded by owners Kevin Duane Bedford, Kim Harris and Stacey Lee, and it describes itself as Manhattan's first one hundred percent African American owned craft beer bar.

The draft and bottle list is built deliberately around brewers of color, including Harlem Brewing Company and Harlem Blue, with cocktails and a bar menu of sausages, pretzels and snacks alongside.

The room is small and there is a backyard behind it. A neon sign on the wall reads "I fell in love with Harlem before I ever got here."
