Brooklyn Tea

Brooklyn, NY

Public sourceBlack-owned · Public source

Brooklyn Tea is a tea shop and tea bar on Lewis Avenue in Bedford-Stuyvesant, opened in January 2019 by co-owners Jamila McGill and Alfonso Wright after several years blending and selling at festivals around the city.

The shelf runs to more than a hundred loose leaf teas, organized both by type, with black, oolong, green, white, rooibos and herbal, and by what people are actually shopping for: sleep, calm, energy, focus, digestion.

Alongside the Brooklyn room there is now an Atlanta shop and a counter at JFK Terminal 4, plus mail order, subscriptions and a wholesale program.
