Restaurants & Food in Charlotte

Charlotte eats by neighborhood, and the neighborhoods are close enough to string together in an evening. Plaza Midwood and NoDa sit either side of Central Avenue and North Davidson, South End runs along the Blue Line and the Rail Trail, and Uptown fills up around the arenas on event nights. East Charlotte along Central Avenue is the city's international corridor and holds the widest range of kitchens in the metro. Optimist Hall and Camp North End are former industrial buildings turned food halls, so several kitchens there keep the building's hours rather than their own.

Bars & Nightlife in Charlotte

Charlotte drinks in a few clear clusters. Plaza Midwood and NoDa carry the neighborhood bars, South End the patios and taprooms along the rail trail, and Uptown the later crowd around the arenas. The Blue Line runs through South End and Uptown into the early hours on weekends, which is the reason a lot of people pick one end of it and stay there.

Construction in Charlotte

General contractors, concrete and grading firms, roofers, electricians and interior trades working across Mecklenburg and the surrounding counties. Many hold state certifications, carry prequalification for public work, and take both commercial and residential jobs. Service areas are usually wider than a single town, so a firm listed in Concord or Gastonia will often travel across the metro.

Retail & Shops in Charlotte

Shopping in Charlotte splits between the walkable neighborhood strips and the bigger centers. NoDa and Plaza Midwood hold the independent boutiques, vintage and record shops, South End and Camp North End mix retail into former mill and factory buildings, and Matthews and Concord keep their own small downtowns. Makers who sell mainly online often still take appointments locally, which is worth asking about.

Beauty & Personal Care in Charlotte

Salons, barbers and skincare studios across the metro, from Uptown and South End to the West End, University City and out into Matthews and Concord. Most work by appointment and many book well ahead, particularly for braiding, locs and color work, so plan further out than you would for a walk in. Some operate from a chair inside a larger studio rather than their own storefront.

Professional Services in Charlotte

Consultants, engineers, architects, logistics and freight operators, marketing and staffing firms across the metro, a good number of them certified with the state. Charlotte's banking and energy employers pull a deep bench of professional firms into the region, and many of these work statewide rather than only locally. Most take enquiries by email and quote on scope rather than publishing rates.

Health & Wellness in Charlotte

Fitness studios, therapists, bodywork and wellness practices spread across the inner neighborhoods and the southern suburbs. Class based studios publish schedules that change seasonally, and clinical practices vary widely on whether they take insurance, so both are worth checking directly before booking.

Legal in Charlotte

Attorneys and legal practices across Charlotte and the surrounding counties. Practice areas are narrower than a general listing suggests, so check that a firm actually handles your matter before calling, and ask early about consultation fees and whether a first meeting is free.

Home Services in Charlotte

Cleaning, landscaping, lawn care, moving and property maintenance across the Charlotte area. These are service area businesses rather than places to visit, so the address on a listing is an office rather than somewhere to turn up, and coverage often runs well past the town named on it. Ask about the radius before assuming a firm will travel.
