At Down North Pizza, great food and second chances share the same oven. We are a Detroit-style pizzeria in Philadelphia's Strawberry Mansion, and we exist to prove a simple point: talent is everywhere, but opportunity is not. Every member of our team is a returning citizen, someone impacted by the justice system who is building a new chapter with a fair wage and real support. That mission shows up in the pan. Our pies are thick, square, and crispy at the edges, layered with cheese pulled all the way to the corners and finished with sauce on top the way Detroit intended. Order online or walk up to the counter at the corner of 28th and Lehigh. There is no delivery, and there is no pretense, just carefully made pizza served by people the world too often counts out. When you eat here, you are backing meaningful work and the belief that everyone deserves a way forward. We open Thursday through Sunday at noon and cook until we sell out, so come hungry and come early. Down North is Philadelphia hospitality with a purpose baked in.
