Field Law is a Baton Rouge practice led by managing attorney Morgan Field, working exclusively in Louisiana estate law: estate planning, wills, powers of attorney, elder law and Medicaid planning, small business and succession planning, successions, and succession litigation. That single-state focus matters more here than it would almost anywhere else. Louisiana is the only American state whose civil law descends from the French and Spanish codes rather than English common law, and its forced heirship rules and succession procedure genuinely do not resemble the neighboring states. A plan drafted on general principles can fail in Louisiana in ways that surprise everyone involved.
