Friends of the Gym

At Friends of the Gym, we believe strength belongs to every body. Tucked into Seattle's Ballard neighborhood, we are an accessible, body-neutral gym built as a soft landing for people who have felt unwelcome in traditional fitness spaces, including queer, trans, BIPOC, and disabled communities. Our space is small but well stocked with everything you need to lift, move, and grow at your own pace. Whether you thrive with one-on-one personal training, a supportive small group class, or quiet time during limited open gym slots, you will find coaching that meets you where you are. We reject diet culture and weight stigma in favor of joy-based movement, adaptable programming, and genuine community. Every session is designed to help you feel capable, connected, and at home in your body. Our door is wheelchair accessible, we keep a gender-neutral restroom, and we work to make each class approachable for all abilities and identities.
