Give Us Paws

Give Us Paws is a Houston-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit that trains highly reliable service dogs for veterans and civilians living with disabilities. We give priority to veterans coping with PTSD, Military Sexual Trauma, and Traumatic Brain Injury, and our service dog training is provided free of charge to eligible veterans. Civilians with ADA-documented disabilities can access the same training on a subsidized basis, so cost never has to stand between a person and a life-changing partnership. Each dog moves through an eight to twelve-month program built on positive reinforcement and clicker training, methods chosen because they are humane, evidence-based, and dependable. Training covers public access skills and customized tasks tailored to each handler's specific disability, and we hold every team to a high standard of reliability. Beyond service dog work, we offer puppy preschool and pet dog training programs for the wider community. Our mission is simple and steady: to raise the standard of service dog training and to place capable, confident dogs alongside the people who need them most. Based at 9305 Emnora Ln, we serve the Houston area and welcome veterans, civilians, and supporters alike.
