NiLu
New York, NY
NiLu is a gift shop on Malcolm X Boulevard in Harlem, curated almost entirely from work by Black creators: pillows, mixed-media art, greeting cards and paper goods, journals, retro accessories and coffee-table books.
It doubles as a modern apothecary, carrying candles, soaps, body butters and oils from Black makers, and it takes corporate gifting orders.
The shop is run by married owners Mark Pinn and Katrina Parris, who have used the sidewalk in front of it for weekend pop-ups by other local artisans.
