Sue Ellen's

We're Sue Ellen's, and we've been the heart of queer Dallas since we first opened our doors on January 19, 1989. That makes us the oldest lesbian bar in Texas, and one of only a handful still standing in the entire country. You'll find us right in the middle of the Oak Lawn strip on Cedar Springs, where we've called our Throckmorton Street home since 2008. Step inside and you'll get two full floors of everything we love: bars on both levels, a two-story covered patio for when you need some air, and the largest game room on the strip. Our nights run the gamut from DJs and dancing until 2 AM to karaoke, live music, and the weekly drag shows we're famous for. Those shows aren't just a good time, they've helped raise money to fight HIV and AIDS for decades. Everybody's welcome here, whether you're a longtime regular or walking in for the very first time.
