PFLAG Santa Rosa / Sonoma County

PFLAG Santa Rosa / Sonoma County is a local chapter of PFLAG, the nation's largest organization dedicated to supporting, educating and advocating for LGBTQ+ people and those who love them. Its mission is to create a caring, just and affirming world for LGBTQ+ people and their families. The chapter was revived in 2023 by parents and community members.

Every month on the fourth Wednesday from 6 to 8 pm, the chapter hosts a facilitated, in-person support meeting in Santa Rosa. Families, friends, allies and LGBTQ+ community members are all welcome to come for information, community and clarity, in a confidential space with light snacks. The chapter also offers workshops on topics such as supporting a trans or queer child, becoming a strong voice for LGBTQ+ inclusion, and key legal protections for queer and trans youth, including anti-bullying laws, non-discrimination policies and student privacy rights. Volunteers table at community events to share PFLAG resources, and the website hosts guides on being an ally, supporting a loved one, faith and families, transgender and nonbinary resources, and Spanish-language materials.
