The Arc of Northeast Colorado

The Arc of Northeast Colorado promotes and protects the rights of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities through empowerment, advocacy and community outreach. From its Greeley office, it serves individuals and families in Weld, Logan, Morgan, Washington, Sedgwick, Phillips and Yuma Counties, with a vision of inclusion, acceptance and belonging.

Individual advocacy is offered at no cost to children and adults with IDD and their families. Trained professional and lay advocates help with systems navigation, including waivers and case management changes, IEP and 504 plan consultations, finding information and partner agencies, and building personal advocacy skills such as problem solving, decision making and conflict management. Community outreach brings people of all abilities together through free programs. The Unified Basketball Summer League Series is a six-week program that builds teamwork, communication and confidence on the court. Annual Inclusive Pool Parties, an Arc of Northeast Colorado Film Festival and the Families in Action Retreat add social and learning opportunities, and educational trainings cover guardianship, wills and trusts, IEPs and Medicaid, plus technology workshops.

The chapter also works on systems advocacy and connects supporters with the arc Thrift Connection. Volunteers, members (free, with a thrift store discount) and board applicants from the outlying counties are welcome, and the office is open Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm.
