PFLAG Fort Collins

PFLAG Fort Collins is a chapter of PFLAG National that creates a caring and affirming community for parents, families and allies of LGBTQ+ people across Northern Colorado, including Fort Collins, Loveland, Estes Park, Windsor, Longmont and Boulder. Its work rests on three things: support, education and advocacy.

Monthly support meetings welcome families with LGBTQ+ loved ones of all identities for conversation, camaraderie and the resources to help with the road ahead. The Fort Collins group meets the second Monday of each month at the Fort Collins Senior Center, Loveland meets the fourth Monday at the Loveland Youth Campus, both with a virtual option, and Estes Park and Longmont each have their own monthly gatherings. The chapter has also held a TRANSforming Families support group.

The chapter builds community beyond the meetings, with booths at Pride events, crafting sessions to make "portable hugs," the annual Longmont family picnic, barbecues and Friendsgiving. Education programs include a Transgender 101 workshop, co-sponsored with Intercultural Community Builders, and guest speakers such as Ben V. Greene. A Take Action page helps members follow policy issues, and a resource library offers guides such as a Guide to Being An Ally to Trans and Nonbinary People.
