PFLAG Roaring Fork Valley

PFLAG Roaring Fork Valley is the local chapter of PFLAG, bringing together LGBTQ+ people, parents, families and allies to build a more equitable and inclusive world. The chapter serves the whole valley, from Aspen to Parachute, and acts as a hub that connects people with LGBTQ+ resources and with each other.

Peer-to-peer meetups are the heart of the work. An everyone meetup for adults meets on the second Sunday of each month in Glenwood Springs and online, and a parent and caregiver meetup meets virtually on the third Monday, with a hybrid option. Meetings are casual, open to anyone and do not require registration. The chapter shares the meeting location when someone emails or texts.

The chapter also keeps a monthly calendar of events, groups and meetups offered by LGBTQIA+-serving organizations across the region, including youth peer groups held in Glenwood Springs, Rifle and Basalt. Its resource library points families, educators and LGBTQ+ adults to affirming counselors and medical providers, crisis support, parent and family guides and local organizations.

PFLAG Roaring Fork Valley shows up in the community at events such as Glenwood Springs Pride and Mountain Pride in Avon, hosts gatherings like a post-election community healing space, and speaks out with regional partners on legislation affecting LGBTQ+ families. Anyone can call or text to be matched with a peer or a resource that fits.
