Arianna's Place

Arianna's Place, long known as Arianna's Center, is a Fort Lauderdale nonprofit that supports and empowers transgender and gender-diverse people, especially trans women of color. Founded in 2015, it serves South Florida and works alongside its sister organization, Arianna's Center in Puerto Rico. Its mission is to uplift LGBTQIA+ people from underserved communities, with a special focus on trans Latinx people, undocumented immigrants, people living with HIV and AIDS, and people who have been incarcerated.

Arianna's Place offers confidential HIV testing, PrEP enrollment, and free condoms and safer sex kits, along with social work support, access to medical care and emotional health support. Staff guide clients through legal name changes and refer them for legal help. For anyone facing homelessness, sudden eviction or an unsafe living situation, the team connects clients to emergency housing, and its programs include shelter for trans women who have been detained by ICE or incarcerated. Trans men have programs of their own, and GED scholarships and career guidance help clients finish school and enter the workforce.

Through an integrated case management model, staff work one-on-one with each client on a plan built around their needs. Arianna's Place also trains providers and community members to serve transgender people with dignity, and prepares trans and LGBTQIA+ advocates to engage elected leaders on health care and HIV policy. Community events, including its Transgender Day of Visibility gathering each March 31, bring people together.
