Florida Immigrant Coalition

The Florida Immigrant Coalition (FLIC) works for a Florida where everyone can live, love and labor without fear. Founded in 1998 and incorporated in 2004, it is led by its members: grassroots and community organizations, farmworkers, youth, advocates, lawyers and union members, with staff in six counties and members statewide.

FLIC delivers free, hands-on help. Its free hotline is the front door for questions, screenings and referrals, including for families with a loved one in immigration detention. With volunteers and pro bono attorneys, FLIC runs free citizenship clinics that help permanent residents complete their applications and fee waivers, plus Temporary Protected Status (TPS) clinics, work permit (EAD) application help, and Family Preparedness clinics that pair legal consultations with Know Your Rights sessions and emergency document packets. Know Your Rights materials come in English, Spanish, French, Arabic and Chinese, and the FLICopedia connects people with legal resources. For students, FLIC shares guidance on college access and private scholarships and welcomes young people into its youth member groups.

FLIC also organizes and advocates for fair treatment of immigrants and helps newly naturalized citizens register to vote through New American Voters.

People can call or text the hotline, check the events page for upcoming clinics, volunteer, or join as a member: individuals through a low-cost membership, and organizations through an application to the board. Donations, including recurring monthly gifts, fund legal services, organizing and civic engagement.
