Miami Beach Pride

Miami Beach Pride brings together LGBTQ+ people, their friends, families and allies each spring to celebrate the spirit and culture of the community. Established in 2008 by former Miami Beach Mayor Matti Bower as an initiative of the Miami Beach Gay Business Development Council, it held its first Pride in 2009 and has grown into a multi-day celebration of arts, culture and civic engagement.

Pride Week opens with the Pride Flag Raising at Miami Beach City Hall and continues with free and ticketed events across the city: a Family Picnic at Pride Park, the Queer Art Showcase for local artists, a women's night called In The Wyld, a networking mixer for LGBTQ+ businesses and professionals, the Mr & Miss Miami Beach Pride Pageant, and the Drag Me to Pride concert. The weekend brings a two-day festival at Lummus Park with two stages, a food village and hundreds of exhibitors, plus the Garden of Eve women's pavilion, a Trans Pride Pavilion and a sensory-friendly Calming Pavilion. The parade closes the celebration along Ocean Drive from 5th to 14th Street.

Year-round, the Angels Program raises scholarship support with the Point Foundation for LGBTQ+ students in Miami-Dade County, and the Legacy Couples program honors same-sex couples together 10 years or longer, who ride in the parade. The community events calendar also shares Pride-related events from other local groups.

Volunteers help with the parade, stages, bars, exhibitors and site build, and donations support the programming.
