TransNetwork

TransNetwork fosters community connection to uplift, celebrate and support transgender and gender-diverse people across Tampa Bay. It brings people together over meals and gatherings, offers education on the real-life issues affecting the community, and builds welcoming spaces for trans and gender-expansive people and their allies in Tampa, St. Petersburg and Clearwater.

Much of the calendar is about simply being together. The Community Lunch & Open Mic/Show 'n Tell at Allendale United Methodist Church in St. Petersburg pairs a light lunch with a relaxed space to share a passion, a talent or part of someone's journey, or just listen. The Trans & Ally Fall Picnic, cohosted with PFLAG Riverview in Brandon, is family friendly, with pizza, games and a playground. Around St. Pete Pride, TransNetwork hosts a sign-making party ahead of the St. Pete Trans March, and it has hosted the UNI-Tea Dance.

The TransNetwork Trans Health Fund, funded by Bell Pharmacy, provides free hormone therapy and generic mental health medications to trans, nonbinary and gender-expansive community members with a Florida prescription. Anyone who needs help can visit the St. Pete location of Bell Pharmacy and ask to use the fund. TransNetwork also shares guidance on Florida laws affecting LGBTQ+ people, including gender-affirming care, and points people to help when care is interrupted.

TransNetwork has received Equality Florida's Community Partner Award. Volunteers are welcome as event helpers, support group facilitators, peer supporters, media and outreach volunteers, and event sponsors.
