Aloha Maui Pride

Aloha Maui Pride is the organization behind Pride on Maui. Formed in 2019, it promotes and sponsors activities that support, celebrate and honor the island's LGBTQIA+ community, in partnership with Maui Aids Foundation. Its mission is to improve and honor the lives of LGBTQIA+ people, including aikane, mahu, mahu wahine and mahu kane, and to build mutual understanding and acceptance through education, sharing cultural values and greater visibility.

The main event is the annual Aloha Maui Pride Festival in the second week of June, with events leading up to it that bring together community members, allies, supporters, elected officials and the public. The 2026 festival took place on June 13 alongside a Pride hike and an official afterparty.

Throughout the year, the group holds a monthly Pride Brunch on the first Sunday at Nalu's South Shore Grill, a monthly Pride Hike, Kitty Bingo at Cat Cafe Maui to benefit Maui Cat Rescue and Aloha Maui Pride, a Halloween Glow Party, observances such as World AIDS Day and Pulse Remembrance Day, and a whale watch fundraiser each February or March. The annual Maui Stands with Pride award recognizes an individual or organization that has been vital to the community.

The LGBTQIA+ Assistance Network, created in 2020, links community members who need help with those who can offer it. Anyone can volunteer, donate online or contact the committee at alohamauipride@gmail.com, and events are open to locals and visitors alike.
