Quad County Urban League
Aurora, IL · Serving DuPage, Kane, Kendall, and Will Counties
Quad County Urban League promotes educational excellence, economic self-reliance, and civil rights for African Americans and other disadvantaged community members across DuPage, Kane, Kendall, and Will counties. Established in 1975 and based in Aurora, the affiliate addresses systemic inequities by equipping youth and adult job seekers with practical workforce skills, career certifications, and comprehensive academic support across the region.
The organization delivers specialized career pathways through initiatives such as Illinois Works pre-apprenticeship training, energy efficiency certifications, and the YouthBuild program. Participants gain hands-on experience and industry-recognized credentials in construction trades, building weatherization, and electrical infrastructure, accompanied by individualized financial coaching and professional mentoring. For middle and high school students, the league offers STEM enrichment sessions, college preparation seminars, and academic tutoring that prepare scholars for higher education and vocational success.
Beyond job training and youth education, Quad County Urban League provides family stabilization services, digital skills instruction, and civic advocacy across the western Chicago suburbs. The organization coordinates community health resources and financial literacy courses to assist households in managing household debt and achieving financial independence. By partnering with regional corporate employers, labor unions, and school districts, the organization builds durable bridges out of poverty and helps families establish sustainable generational wealth.
