Dress for Success Quad Cities

Dress for Success Quad Cities helps women in Eastern Iowa and Western Illinois get a job, keep it and move ahead in their careers, and all programming is free for women in the Quad Cities area. Most women begin with a HireHER workshop, then request an interview outfit appointment, one-on-one career coaching, or both. At the Davenport boutique, StyleHER pairs each woman with a volunteer personal stylist who helps her choose an interview outfit and offers advice on style and presentation. Once she is hired full time, she returns for New Job Wardrobe appointments, where Image Coaches help build a small capsule wardrobe for the first day at work.

Career Coaching matches each woman with a volunteer coach based on industry, needs, personality and availability, for confidential guidance on strengths, priorities, goals and next steps. The Working Women's Network meets in person on the third Tuesday of each month with guest speakers on topics from workplace culture to personal finances, and a Community Resource Guide points women to food pantries, meal sites, health centers and SNAP help across the region. No referral is required, though the organization works with a network of community partners, colleges and nonprofit agencies.

Community members can donate professional clothing on Tuesdays from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., shop the monthly FAB Friday fill-a-bag sales, host a clothing drive, or volunteer as a career coach, image coach, resume reviewer, guest speaker or donation center specialist. The annual Recycle the Runway fashion fundraiser brings designers together to create runway looks from recycled clothing, with proceeds funding job-search help and coaching for local women. The organization has served the region since 2011.
