Dress for Success New Orleans
New Orleans, LA · Serving Greater New Orleans
Dress for Success New Orleans empowers women to achieve economic independence by providing a network of support, professional attire, and development tools to help them thrive in work and life. Founded in 1999, the affiliate assists hundreds of women each year across the Greater New Orleans metropolitan area. Clients receive personalized suiting consultations that equip them with interview-ready clothing, shoes, and accessories, helping them make positive impressions during job interviews.
Beyond suiting, the organization delivers comprehensive employment preparation and digital skill-building programs. Participants receive one-on-one resume coaching, mock interview practice, and job search guidance. The organization also hosts the Professional Women's Group, an ongoing workforce retention program that provides employed clients with monthly seminars on financial literacy, workplace etiquette, leadership development, and career advancement strategies.
Services are provided free of charge through a structured referral network comprising more than 50 community partner agencies, including shelters, workforce development centers, and educational institutions. Caseworkers submit candidate referrals directly, after which staff coordinate suiting and career coaching appointments.
Community members can get involved by donating clean, contemporary business apparel during scheduled donation drop-offs at the Josephine Street boutique, volunteering as personal stylists and mock interviewers, or providing financial contributions to fund workforce development programs.
