Worcester, MA · Serving Massachusetts

Serves LGBTQ+ individuals, families, youth, and communities across MassachusettsLGBTQIA+Registered nonprofit

MassEquality is the leading statewide grassroots advocacy and educational organization working to ensure that everyone across Massachusetts can thrive without discrimination based on sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression. Formed in 2004 during the landmark campaign to protect equal marriage rights, the organization mobilizes residents, educators, community leaders, and elected officials across the Commonwealth.

The MassEquality Education Fund leads comprehensive public education initiatives and grassroots organizing campaigns focused on youth empowerment, racial justice, and transgender rights. The organization provides educational toolkits, policy guidance, and anti-bullying training to K-12 schools, empowering student leaders and Gay-Straight Alliances to build safe, welcoming, and affirming educational environments.

Through community town halls, legislative tracking, and coalition partnerships, MassEquality educates voters and policymakers on pressing issues, including access to gender-affirming healthcare, safe affordable housing for LGBTQ+ seniors, and nondiscrimination safeguards. The organization also hosts statewide community events, including the annual Pride celebration reception and youth advocacy days at the State House.

Community members and educators can access educational guides, research reports, and issue briefings directly on the organization website. Advocates and supporters can get involved by joining grassroots organizing teams, attending regional rallies and educational webinars, volunteering during public outreach events, or donating to sustain statewide civil rights campaigns.
