Serves LGBTQ+ and transgender individuals, families, youth, and advocates throughout NebraskaLGBTQIA+Registered nonprofit

OutNebraska is a statewide advocacy organization dedicated to empowering, celebrating, and cultivating thriving LGBTQ+ and transgender communities across Nebraska. Formed originally as OutLinc in 2007 and later expanding into a comprehensive statewide non-profit, the organization operates from Lincoln to advance legal protections, foster cultural visibility, and support queer Nebraskans in both urban centers and rural towns.

A foundational pillar of the organization's work is policy advocacy and legislative monitoring before the Nebraska Unicameral. Staff organizers and volunteer advocates track introduced bills, present expert testimony during committee hearings, and mobilize community members to contact their state senators. The organization actively opposes discriminatory legislation and leads coalitions advocating for statewide nondiscrimination protections in housing, employment, and public accommodations.

In addition to legislative engagement, OutNebraska manages Nebraska Competes, a nonpartisan coalition of businesses committed to fostering inclusive work environments that attract and retain top professional talent. The group delivers professional educational trainings across the state, including Transgender 101 and LGBTQ+ workplace inclusion workshops for corporations, healthcare organizations, and school districts.

OutNebraska also produces major cultural and community celebrations that highlight queer storytelling and art. The annual Prairie Pride Film Festival showcases independent LGBTQ+ cinema from regional and international filmmakers, while the Unity Ball brings together community leaders and advocates for an evening of joy and community recognition.
