The Broome County Urban League is a historic civil rights and community empowerment organization dedicated to enabling African Americans and disadvantaged individuals to secure economic self-reliance, parity, power, and civil rights. Established in 1969, the affiliate operates from its headquarters on Carroll Street in downtown Binghamton, serving thousands of families across Broome County and the Southern Tier of New York.

The agency provides comprehensive family support and economic development services centered at The Center for Help. Through the Advanced Technology Training and Information Networking (ATTAIN) lab, the organization delivers free digital literacy instruction, vocational computer software training, and certifications to help job seekers enter the modern workforce. The workforce division also offers career readiness coaching, resume development, and direct job placement assistance. To support family stability, the organization provides emergency food assistance, utility navigation, and parent empowerment workshops.
