Pride Center of Western New York
Buffalo, NY · Serving Western New York, including Erie and Niagara counties
The Pride Center of Western New York is a premier health promotion and community organization dedicated to making Western New York a safe, healthy, and satisfying place for LGBTQ+ people to live, work, and raise their families. Established in 2001 as an affiliate of Evergreen Health, the agency delivers comprehensive wellness services, health navigation, and inclusive social programming across Erie, Niagara, and surrounding counties.
Operating from its headquarters on Delaware Avenue in downtown Buffalo, the organization provides targeted health promotion programs designed to eliminate wellness disparities. Staff members deliver free and confidential rapid HIV and STI screenings, pre-exposure prophylaxis navigation, harm reduction supplies, and linkage to affirming medical care. Through its transgender and gender-expansive programs, the center offers individualized support for social and medical transitions, gender-affirming clothing, and navigation assistance for legal name and gender marker changes on official identification documents.
In addition to clinical navigation, the center facilitates an extensive schedule of peer support groups for youth, young adults, transgender individuals, and LGBTQ+ elders through its Elder Pride program. Staff members also conduct cultural competency and sensitivity trainings for regional healthcare providers, educational institutions, and corporate employers to foster affirming environments across Western New York. Community members can access services by visiting the Delaware Avenue office or contacting staff by phone. Supporters can advance the mission by attending community fundraisers or making financial donations to sustain vital wellness programs.
