MBE vs WBE vs LGBTBE: what these certifications mean

MBE (minority-owned, via NMSDC), WBE (women-owned, via WBENC), LGBTBE (LGBTQ-owned, via NGLCC), DOBE (disability-owned, via Disability:IN), and VBE (veteran-owned, via NVBDC) are the most common diverse-supplier certifications.

Each is issued by an independent organization with its own documentation and review. A certification verifies ownership, operation, and control by the relevant group.
