TransIntimate

TransIntimate provides care, mentorship and referrals that help transgender and gender-diverse people in Northern Arizona build resilience through everyday challenges and crisis situations. Based in Flagstaff, it works from compassion and nonjudgment, with support that honors each person's whole identity, including race, disability, neurodivergence and class.

Peer mentors offer a listening ear from people with similar experiences, and every mentee has access to a network of affirming services across Northern Arizona: therapists, healthcare providers, insurance navigators, employment trainers and social groups. For parents, the Flagstaff drop-in Parent Group meets the first and third Wednesdays of each month from 6 to 8 pm. It is free, led by transgender and cisgender facilitators, and welcomes families of trans, gender-diverse and Two-Spirit people of any age, with room to talk through social transition, medical questions, grief and supporting a child's many identities. Free 1-on-1 support is also available in person, by video or by phone.

TransIntimate also works with schools, universities, early childhood centers, therapists, hospitals and tribal organizations on LGBTQ+ inclusion. Its trainings educate allies, support LGBTQ+ people healing from oppression and help groups have hard conversations across identities, all without shame or blame. Online resources include the Online Trans Parenting Challenge, TransLiterate basic terms and the Pronoun Project.
