Pomona Valley Pride

Pomona, CA · Serving Pomona Valley and Western Inland Empire

Serves LGBTQIA2S+ individuals, youth, seniors, and families in the Pomona Valley and Inland EmpireLGBTQIA+Registered nonprofit

Pomona Valley Pride operates a community center in downtown Pomona dedicated to nurturing, empowering, and advocating for LGBTQIA2S+ individuals, youth, and families across eastern Los Angeles and western San Bernardino counties. Established in 2019, the organization defends civil liberties, fosters social connection, and delivers essential supportive resources through peer-led discussion groups, youth leadership initiatives, and celebratory cultural gatherings.

Youth programs provide middle school, high school, and college students with an affirming environment to build social connections and explore self-expression. Initiatives include Youth Advocacy and Lavender Leadership, which trains emerging leaders in community organizing and public speaking, alongside creative arts projects such as the Radiant Voices writing circle and student-led podcast productions. Adult and intergenerational circles address specific life stages through groups like Vintage Pride for older adults, Justice Beyond Gender for transgender and nonbinary participants, and In My Adulting Era for young professionals navigating career and personal transitions.

The center also coordinates large-scale regional events that promote queer visibility, including the signature annual Pomona Valley Pride festival, the Annual Gayla, and local art exhibitions. Year-round wellness initiatives such as weekly community walking clubs, game nights, and book discussions offer continuous opportunities for neighborly fellowship. In addition, the organization collaborates with public health partners to provide free HIV testing, mental health counseling referrals, and mutual aid navigation for community members facing housing or food insecurity.
