Equality Connecticut

Equality Connecticut works to advance the rights, health, history and culture of Connecticut's LGBTQIA+ community. A grassroots, statewide organization rooted in social justice values, it advocates for inclusive public policy, organizes and sponsors community events, and supports the state's LGBTQIA+ organizations, with a primary goal of building a strong, connected queer and trans community.

The Policy & Movement Center carries the advocacy work at the state level. The 2026 legislative priorities were developed with input from healthcare providers, educators, legal organizations and reproductive equity groups. They include strengthening Connecticut's shield law for gender-affirming and reproductive care, expanding access to prescription hormone therapy with a 12-month supply, closing gaps in local nondiscrimination policies so students have consistent protections, backing the LGBTQ+ Justice & Opportunity Network, and joining the Fertility Access Connecticut campaign for fertility coverage for LGBTQ and single people.

Equality CT has also hosted Thursday office hours from 3 to 5 p.m., with one-on-one support for people navigating proposed federal rules that would restrict gender-affirming care. On the celebration side, The Summer Party benefit at the Pond House Cafe in West Hartford, held August 30, 2026, brought together community leaders, advocates and supporters and presented the inaugural Jerimarie Liesgang Medal of Vision.
