Central Florida Sounds of Freedom Band and Color Guard

Central Florida Sounds of Freedom Band and Color Guard (CFSOF) promotes LGBTQIA+ awareness, acceptance and equality through entertainment and inclusion, and its diverse membership serves the community by educating through the performing arts. Founded in 2011 by a small group of musicians performing at Orlando's Parliament House, it is now an LGBTQIA+ community concert band, marching band and color guard, and a proud member of Pride Bands Alliance.

The concert band presents a full season each year, including an annual benefit concert for a local nonprofit. One past benefit, Stage & Screen at the Walt Disney Amphitheater at Lake Eola Park, supported Orlando Youth Alliance. The season runs from fall into June with themed programs, including a collaboration with the Orlando Gay Chorus, and season subscriptions are available. The marching band, color guard and pep band perform year-round at Come Out With Pride, parades and community events, from the Orlando Public Library to the Festival of Trees at the Orlando Museum of Art.

No audition is required. Current professionals, people who have not played since high school and brand-new learners all have a place, and the color guard teaches newcomers. The band rehearses weekly during concert season in Orlando. Volunteers help move equipment, photograph events and run silent auctions, supporters can sponsor a song, and organizations can book the band with 60 to 90 days' notice.
