PFLAG Pensacola

PFLAG Pensacola is the local chapter of PFLAG National, offering support, education and advocacy for LGBTQIA+ people and the parents, families, friends and allies who love them across Pensacola and Northwest Florida. Its mission is a caring, just and affirming world for LGBTQ+ people and those who love them.

At the heart of the chapter are free Adult Support Group Meetings for anyone 18 and older, led by trained PFLAG facilitators. Each meeting opens with a welcome and group guidelines, then moves into a discussion shaped by the people in the room: coming out, family relationships, and how both ripple through friendships and the wider community. Attendees can share or simply listen, and confidentiality comes first. For safety, guests RSVP and receive the meeting location by email.

Beyond meetings, the chapter hosts all-ages social events, community education for schools, faith communities and workplaces, and Advocacy in Action. PFLAG Pensacola shows up at Pride celebrations and community events, and offers emergency help such as affirming clothing, transportation assistance and connections to affirming mental health services. A free resource library covers supporting a transgender or nonbinary loved one, faith and family, and ally guides in English and Spanish.

Anyone can attend a meeting without joining. Annual memberships (student, individual and household) include national PFLAG membership, supporters can sponsor a membership for someone who needs one, and local businesses can back the work as Community Partners.
