Queer Tallahassee Artists Collective

Queer Tallahassee Artists Collective (QTAC) creates economic opportunity and community connection for LGBTQIA+ artists, makers and families in Florida's capital city. It grew out of the Queer Makers Market, which its founders started in 2022 to give local queer and trans artists a place to sell their work and give the wider community a joyful, affirming place to gather.

The Queer Makers Market remains the flagship: a fee-free outdoor market held about six times a year, including a Pride Edition in June and the annual Holigays Market in December. Each market features 12 to 20 or more LGBTQIA+ vendors selling original art, pottery, fiber work, candles, prints, stickers, jewelry and small-batch fashion, and welcomes both first-time sellers and established small businesses.

Trans*formations: Crafting Beyond the Binary is a free monthly crafting and community meeting for trans, nonbinary and gender-nonconforming people, led by a counseling professional, with supplies provided and alternating BIPOC-only sessions held in partnership with Capital Tea. The Art & Craft Supply Exchange pops up at markets so anyone can take or donate new and pre-loved supplies at no cost, and the Big Gay Hangout rounds out the calendar.

Shoppers can RSVP for markets on the event calendar, artists can apply to vend, and members volunteer at the market info booth. Donations fund booth spaces, tents, tables and water for vendors and shoppers, and craft supplies for Trans*formations.
