The Fairy GayMothers

The Fairy GayMothers sprinkle Key West with confetti, bubbles, random acts of kindness and one steady message: you are loved. Their mission is to embrace the island's One Human Family so everyone can feel accepted, celebrated and supported, with a focus on neighbors who struggle to find that sense of community, including LGBTQIA+ residents.

Their community initiatives meet practical needs. Birthday Sprinkles Boxes give families everything for a birthday party, from cake mix and frosting to candles, balloons and a banner, free at SOS Kitchen's Stock Island Pantry and Sugar Apple Organic Cafe & Market. Fairy Food Drives collect food and funds for local pantries through donation boxes at businesses around town, and Magic Meals partners with local eateries to offer free to-go meals, no questions asked. They also keep a free, regularly updated Key West Community Food Resources list.

Through You Are Loved, the Fairy GayMothers hand out free bracelets and Free Mom Hugs. Their 'Bigotry is not welcome here' campaign offers free posters that homes and businesses can display to show solidarity and signal a place where people facing harassment can find support.

The Fairy GayMothers also help other local nonprofits raise funds, appear at community events and parades, and welcome volunteers to join the Fairy Family. Supporters can donate to a specific initiative, drop off food donations or buy shirts from their online store.
