PFLAG Peachtree City

PFLAG Peachtree City supports LGBTQIA+ people and their parents, families, friends and allies in Fayette and Coweta counties and the surrounding area. The chapter's work rests on three commitments shared across PFLAG: education, advocacy and support.

On the third Thursday of every month, the chapter hosts in-person support meetings from 7 to 8:30 PM. Trained facilitators lead an adult group for deeper conversation and a young adult group for ages 18 to 30 that offers a more casual, social space. Meetings are confidential, and newcomers are welcome to simply listen. Parents or guardians accompany anyone under 18. Texting PFLAG to 833-751-2329 brings the meeting location and reminders.

Before and after each meeting, attendees can browse a lending library of more than 300 books, pamphlets, DVDs and CDs, organized into 11 categories from Coming Out and Parents/Educators to Religion/Spirituality and Transgender/Gender Non-Conforming. Items can be borrowed for a month at a time. The collection began with a gift of PFLAG Atlanta's entire library when the chapter formed in 2017.

The chapter's Queer Closet collects gently used clothing and gives it away free, with a focus on gender-affirming clothing and accessories for trans and nonbinary people and an open door to anyone. Members also gather for social events such as Virtual Game Night. Advocacy includes pushing for fair treatment in schools, workplaces and churches and promoting anti-bullying and safe schools training.

People can join as members at several levels, donate online or by check, train as volunteer facilitators, and help spread the word about the meetings.
