Naper Pride
Naperville, IL · Serving Naperville and Western Suburbs of Chicago
Naper Pride builds a welcoming, family-centered community for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer individuals, families, and allies throughout Naperville and the greater western suburbs of Chicago. Founded in 2019, the organization advocates for equal treatment and full inclusion across all gender expressions and sexual orientations, creating social spaces where every resident can find celebration, connection, and belonging regardless of background or identity.
The organization coordinates cultural and social programming throughout the year to foster fellowship and combat social isolation. Its signature musical initiative, the LGBTQ+ Community Chorus, offers a non-audition ensemble welcoming singers of all vocal backgrounds, skill levels, and geographic locations to rehearse and perform together. For neurodivergent community members, Naper Pride hosts NeuroQueer Social Nights, providing relaxed, sensory-friendly evenings focused on crafts, conversation, and board games. Older adults connect through monthly coffee gatherings designed for community members ages 40 and older to share experiences, discuss regional issues, and build lasting friendships.
In addition to ongoing social circles, Naper Pride convenes public Pride celebrations, community resource fairs, and civic educational panels in partnership with local municipalities, civic groups, and cultural institutions. Through these collaborative efforts, the organization ensures LGBTQ+ residents and their families have access to supportive community networks, health education, and welcoming public spaces.
