Dress for Success Louisville
Louisville, KY · Serving Greater Louisville and Southern Indiana
Dress for Success Louisville empowers women to achieve economic independence by providing professional attire, career development tools, and a network of support. Founded in 2000, the organization assists women entering or returning to the workforce across the Greater Louisville metropolitan area and Southern Indiana. Clients receive personalized suiting consultations that equip them with interview-ready clothing, shoes, and accessories, helping them make confident first impressions as they pursue career opportunities.
Beyond suiting, the organization delivers comprehensive employment readiness training designed to foster long-term workplace success. Participants engage in resume preparation, mock interview practice, and digital skills workshops. Ongoing career retention programs, including the Professional Women's Group, provide regular peer mentorship, financial capability coaching, and leadership seminars. These educational offerings help employed women navigate workplace culture, build savings, and advance toward permanent financial self-sufficiency.
Services are provided free of charge through a structured referral network comprising community partner agencies, including emergency shelters, job training centers, addiction recovery programs, and educational institutions. Referral coordinators submit client information directly, after which staff members schedule individual suiting consultations and career coaching appointments.
Community members can get involved by donating gently used professional apparel, contributing financial support, or volunteering as personal stylists, resume coaches, and workshop facilitators. Clothing donation drop-offs and volunteer orientation sessions occur regularly throughout the year to support participating women.
