Pride Portland!
Portland, ME · Serving Greater Portland
Pride Portland is an all-volunteer community organization that plans and produces Greater Portland annual LGBTQ+ Pride celebrations. Formed in 2014 to create a more inclusive, grassroots celebration, the organization works to celebrate the diversity of sexual orientations and gender identities while raising awareness of ongoing social and legal challenges facing queer Mainers.
The centerpiece of the organization work is the annual Pride Portland Parade and Festival, which draws tens of thousands of participants, families, community groups, and local businesses to downtown Portland. The parade weaves through city streets, culminating in an expansive festival at Deering Oaks Park featuring live music, theatrical performances, local food trucks, and dozens of resource booths hosted by community nonprofits and inclusive businesses.
In addition to the main festival, Pride Portland coordinates a diverse calendar of events throughout Pride Month, including all-ages dance parties, queer maker markets, family picnics, and film screenings. The organization emphasizes accessibility, racial justice, and intersectional solidarity, ensuring that events remain welcoming and barrier-free for youth, elders, and transgender individuals.
Community members can find festival schedules, route maps, and event updates directly on the organization website. Volunteers and supporters can get involved by joining planning committees, helping staff parade safety teams, sponsoring festival stages, or making financial donations to keep community events free and accessible.
