Out On The Lakeshore
Holland, MI · Serving Holland and the West Michigan Lakeshore
Out On The Lakeshore provides a safe, welcoming, and inclusive community center dedicated to supporting LGBTQ+ individuals, youth, and families along the West Michigan lakeshore. Established in Holland, the organization works to eliminate social isolation and foster a lasting sense of belonging through peer connection, open educational dialogue, social engagement, and active community partnerships.
The center offers a diverse range of peer support and social engagement programs designed for community members of all ages and backgrounds. Weekly youth drop-in hours give middle and high school students a comfortable and supervised environment to study, socialize, play games, and engage in creative artistic projects. Additional ongoing gatherings include support circles for transgender and nonbinary individuals, social clubs for LGBTQ+ seniors, community book clubs, game nights, and family support meetings for parents, guardians, and caregivers navigating gender and sexuality.
Out On The Lakeshore also coordinates the annual Holland PRIDE celebration, bringing together local residents, regional nonprofit organizations, and supportive businesses to champion visibility, education, and equality in Ottawa County. Through community outreach, cultural competency presentations, educational forums, and welcoming open doors, the organization actively builds a more compassionate, understanding, and connected lakeshore community where every person can live authentically and without fear of discrimination.
