Holland Pride Festival

The Holland Pride Festival is an afternoon event at Kollen Park presented by Out On The Lakeshore. It includes entertainment, food trucks, merchandise vendors, resource booths, and activities for all ages. Related Pride Month events include an open mic night, a fiber arts event, and The Disco Ball drag and dance party.

Out On The Lakeshore (OOTL) formed in 2015, when the board of Holland Is Ready and the officers of Pride voted to create a new organization. It was introduced to Holland at that June's Pride and set up as a community center offering programs, resources, support and education for LGBTQ+ people and allies. OOTL is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, and the Pride festival is its largest fundraiser, supporting the center.

The center runs support groups such as Gender SAFE, social groups like Aged with Pride, the Reading the Rainbow book club, community game nights and a program called Show Your Work. It keeps a library of educational materials and sends speakers to businesses and organizations. In 2020 the City of Holland gave OOTL its Social Justice Award for leading the effort to pass the city's non-discrimination ordinance.

The festival at Kollen Park runs from 1 to 6 p.m., with a stage lineup that has included independent musicians and spoken word poetry. Around it, Pride Month events take place at Herrick District Library and with partners such as the Holland Area Arts Council and the Lakeshore Fiber Arts Guild, and local businesses offer deals to OOTL supporters.

Pride events celebrate LGBTQ+ people and mark the Stonewall uprising of June 1969. Most combine a parade or march with a festival of performers, community groups, vendors and food.

The organizer has not announced dates for 2027 yet. In 2026 it was held June 27, 2026. It usually falls last Saturday of June.
