Dress for Success Oklahoma City
Oklahoma City, OK · Serving Greater Oklahoma City
Dress for Success Oklahoma City empowers women across the Oklahoma City metropolitan area to secure sustainable employment and achieve lasting economic independence. Established in 2014, the organization delivers a comprehensive continuum of career development services that addresses both immediate employment barriers and long-term career growth for women entering or returning to the workforce.
The agency's foundational Suiting Program equips job-seeking women with professional workplace attire, footwear, and accessories at no cost. Clients work one-on-one with volunteer personal stylists to select tailored outfits for job interviews, formal hearings, or internships. Once employment is secured, clients return to receive a full week of professional wardrobe pieces suitable for their new workplace environments. This personalized experience builds self-confidence, ensuring women present themselves with poise during critical employment milestones.
To support sustainable upward mobility, the organization operates an active Career Center on West Main Street. Employment specialists assist clients with resume creation, mock interviews, digital job application navigation, and connections to local hiring partners. Following employment placement, participants are invited to join the Professional Women's Group, a monthly peer network focused on workplace retention, leadership skills, personal financial management, and career advancement strategies.
Women access services through referrals from regional social service partners or by scheduling appointments directly with the downtown Oklahoma City office. Community members can get involved by donating gently used professional attire, volunteering as career coaches and stylists, or contributing financial support.
