Serves Women-identifying and gender-expansive individuals seeking employment and economic independence across Oregon and Southwest WashingtonWomenRegistered nonprofit

Dress for Success Oregon empowers women-identifying and gender-expansive job seekers across Oregon and Southwest Washington to achieve long-term economic independence and career stability. Established in 1999 as an independent affiliate of the international movement, the Portland-based nonprofit delivers comprehensive workforce development programs that address the complex barriers individuals face when entering or reentering the labor market. The organization provides wrap-around support that combines professional wardrobe consultations with practical career coaching, job search tools, and sustained peer encouragement.

The path toward financial self-sufficiency begins with individualized styling appointments, where volunteer stylists help clients choose professional attire, footwear, and accessories tailored to upcoming job interviews. When a client secures employment, the boutique welcomes them back for a full working wardrobe to ease their professional transition. Through the Virtual Career Center and regular interactive workshops, participants develop essential career competencies, including targeted resume writing, interview preparation, digital literacy skills, and the effective use of artificial intelligence in modern job applications.

Sustained employment retention and upward economic mobility are fostered through the Professional Women's Group, a structured networking cohort that meets monthly. Participants explore financial literacy topics, budgeting, workplace communication strategies, and personal leadership development. By addressing both the immediate material needs and the long-term career aspirations of participants, the organization strengthens family stability and fosters broad economic equity.
