Bell County Pride Celebration

The Bell County Inclusion Council is planning a Pride celebration in the Middlesboro area with a live band, performers, vendors, food trucks, community activities in Lincoln Park and a Pride march. The event is also planned as a tribute to TK Bryant.

This is the Bell County Inclusion Council's first Pride celebration. Organizers first applied to hold it in the City Hall parking lot, but that space was already booked, so they filed a second application for Ashbury Avenue and Lincoln Park, which offers room for more vendors, food trucks, performers and activities. The proposed layout closes part of Ashbury Avenue, puts food trucks and vendors in the park's parking circle and sets up a stage for the band and performers on the softball field. Security is part of the plan.

The march route, traffic control and safety measures were being worked out with the Middlesboro Street Department and Police Department, and organizers said nothing would be treated as confirmed until the mayor approved the permits. The council has also been looking for more vendors, performers, volunteers, community groups and local businesses, and it describes the day as a way to remember TK Bryant and the effect their life had on others.

Pride events celebrate LGBTQ+ people and mark the Stonewall uprising of June 1969. Most combine a parade or march with a festival of performers, community groups, vendors and food.

Bell County Pride Celebration has included march, festival, live music and vendors.

The organizer has not announced dates for 2027 yet. It usually falls october.
