Glasgow Pride

Glasgow Pride, Inc. promotes an inclusive environment for LGBTQ+ people in the Glasgow area of south central Kentucky through advocacy and community events. Its 2026 Pride was held on May 31 at Beaver Creek Park. The organizer says the next festival will be in June 2027, date to be set.

Glasgow Pride was started in June 2024 by a group of nine people who wanted a supportive, inclusive environment for LGBTQ+ people and allies in Glasgow and Barren County. Just six weeks after forming, the committee held the first Glasgow Pride event on August 3, 2024. As of 2026, Glasgow Pride, Inc. is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit.

The organization works through advocacy, education and community outreach and says it welcomes everyone regardless of age, ethnicity, sexuality, gender identity, class, ability, beliefs or culture. It lists the safety and well-being of LGBTQ+ people as a core commitment and aims to build understanding between neighbors from different backgrounds. Between festivals it hosts smaller gatherings, such as a community and karaoke evening, recruits volunteers year-round, and is building a list of LGBTQ+ friendly businesses in Glasgow and Barren County.

Pride events celebrate LGBTQ+ people and mark the Stonewall uprising of June 1969. Most combine a parade or march with a festival of performers, community groups, vendors and food.

The organizer has not announced dates for 2027 yet. In 2026 it was held May 31, 2026. It usually falls late May or June.
