About Eyes Wide Open Juneteenth Festival

A Juneteenth music and culture festival at The Plant in Pittsboro, featuring African American performers from the Raleigh area and Black-owned businesses. The 2026 theme was Black Dandy. Admission was $17.50 online and $15 at the door.

Juneteenth marks June 19, 1865, when news of the end of slavery reached Galveston, Texas. It became a federal holiday in 2021. Celebrations often include parades, music, food, history programs and family activities.
