BeYoUUU

BeYoUUU is a Little Rock nonprofit that uplifts transgender and nonbinary people by creating a secure, healthy and non-judgmental place to thrive. Its work centers on BIPOC transmasculine and gender nonconforming individuals and draws on peer leadership, education, advocacy and direct services, including gender affirmation, harm reduction, reproductive justice and health care access.

Support groups are led by community members and cover topics such as sexual health, coming out, mental health awareness and healing from trauma. A bi-weekly Wednesday evening group, 6 to 8 p.m., is open to trans and nonbinary youth ages 16 and up and adults. The organization also hosts counseling sessions, educational workshops and community events, including movie nights and drag benefit shows.

The Gender Affirming Closet is a free, mobile closet that brings clothing, household items and emergency non-perishable food directly to people, delivering within 45 miles of Little Rock. Anyone in need can request it, including on someone else's behalf. A mentorship program helps people with financial literacy, resume building, interview preparation and job searching, and direct financial assistance covers essentials like transportation, food and prescription medications during hardship.

People can request the closet or ask about groups through the BeYoUUU website. Supporters can donate, give gently used or new clothing and household items, volunteer with the mobile closet (a vehicle and valid driver's license are required), or attend an event.
