The Arc of San Diego

The Arc of San Diego supports and empowers children and adults with disabilities to achieve their goals and reach their maximum potential. It believes community integration provides the best environment for people with disabilities to learn practical skills and develop relationships, and it paves the way to independence by helping people access community resources.

Services span a lifetime. Early Intervention offers family-centered educational services for children from birth to three who have developmental delays or are at risk for delay. Adults can take part in Day Training, which builds skills in communication, money management, computer literacy, American Sign Language and more, or choose the Tailored Day option for vocational, educational and recreational goals. Community Inclusion Services connects people with volunteering, paid work experience and post-secondary education, and Employment Services provides job placement with on-the-job support. The Arc of San Diego also staffs 10 residential homes and supports people who live on their own through Independent Living Services.

Families can turn to Respite Services for short-term relief in the home or at the weekend Respite House, and participants can join recreation outings with peers. Our Place Wellness Center offers adaptive yoga, fitness, nutrition, art and music therapies.

People can refer themselves, or be referred by a parent, conservator, care provider or San Diego Regional Center service coordinator. Volunteers, interns, members and donors are welcome.
