Augusta Pride
Augusta, GA · Serving Greater Augusta and the Central Savannah River Area
Augusta Pride fosters unity, awareness, and acceptance for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer individuals and their allies across the Central Savannah River Area. Formed in 2009 to build a visible and supportive community, the organization coordinates public celebrations, educational initiatives, and family-friendly gatherings that bring together people from eastern Georgia and western South Carolina. The organization focuses on creating inclusive environments where individuals can express themselves freely and connect with essential community resources.
The organization's signature gathering is the annual Augusta Pride Festival and Parade, held in downtown Augusta at the Augusta Common. The weekend celebration features live musical entertainment, local artisan vendors, civic resource booths, and an energetic street parade along Broad Street. Beyond the summer festival, Augusta Pride hosts year-round cultural programming, including Beats on Broad, the Augusta Pride Royalty Pageant, and community fundraisers that promote visibility and fellowship across regional borders.
Through partnerships with regional civic groups, health organizations, and student alliances, Augusta Pride works to cultivate a welcoming environment where all individuals can access supportive social networks. The organization facilitates access to preventive health education, LGBTQ+ youth support networks, and local wellness services through its community partners. All community members and supporters are welcome to participate in planning committees, volunteer during festivals, or attend open social gatherings throughout the year.
