Augusta Pride

Augusta Pride is an all-volunteer nonprofit that holds a Pride weekend in Augusta each June. The weekend usually includes the Beats on Broad dance party, a parade and a free festival with speakers, entertainers and vendors, followed by pool parties. In 2026 the festival moved to the Augusta Exchange Club Fairgrounds because of downtown construction.

Augusta Pride builds a full Pride week around its main festival. Recent schedules have opened with a kickoff night at Capri Lounge on Gordon Highway and a Pride trivia night at Savannah River Brewing Company, both 21 and older with no cover. An invitation-only reception thanks sponsors and honorees, and people who donate at the sponsor level before the deadline are added to its guest list.

Beats on Broad, billed as Augusta's largest outdoor dance party, is a ticketed evening event that serves as a prelude to festival day, and in 2026 it carried a $10 cover at the Exchange Club Fairgrounds on Hale Street. The festival itself runs from late morning to afternoon with free admission and on-site parking. The weekend closes with sponsor-hosted pool parties at the Metropolis Complex, plus noon events at Capri Lounge and at Parliament Resort, which charges a $20 cover. Anyone attending 21-and-over events needs a government-issued ID.

When it runs, the parade lines up in the former James Brown Arena parking lot, with units checking in between 8:30 and 9:30 a.m. and stepping off at 10 a.m. The route heads north on 7th Street, west on Greene Street to 10th Street and back east on Greene. It was canceled for 2026 because of construction on and around Broad Street. Augusta Pride is supported by sponsors and by monthly donors it calls Pride Sustainers, and merchandise sales go toward its mission.

Pride events celebrate LGBTQ+ people and mark the Stonewall uprising of June 1969. Most combine a parade or march with a festival of performers, community groups, vendors and food.

The organizer has not announced dates for 2027 yet. In 2026 it was held June 26-28, 2026. It usually falls last full weekend of June.
