Boise Pride Festival

Boise Pride Festival exists to promote diversity, inclusion and equal rights for Idaho's LGBTQ+ community through education, advocacy, community engagement and the celebration of Pride. The organization's goal is to build safe, welcoming spaces that foster visibility, connection and belonging, and to strengthen relationships among LGBTQ+ people, allies, businesses, nonprofits and the wider Boise community.

The festival was founded in 1989 and hosts Idaho's largest Pride event of the year. In 2026 it marks its 37th year with an expanded three-day celebration at Ann Morrison Park, September 18 to 20, under the theme Louder Than Fear. The park is free to enter all three days, while admission to the festival area varies by day.

Pride Friday, September 18, launches the weekend with a ticketed night of music, drag and celebration headlined by Trixie Mattel and Chrissy Chlapecka. Saturday opens with Louder Than Fear, a Pride community yoga practice, then moves through dance troupes, local performers, line dancing, a drag showcase and headliners, and closes with the Boise Pride fireworks show, dedicated in memory of Laurie Tomlinson. Sunday begins at 10 a.m. with the Boise Pride Parade presented by Albertsons, then fills the park with a church service by local groups, Reading Time With The Queens, a dance session, a Pet Pride Show and live music until 5 p.m. The weekend also includes the ATTENTION Party for adults 21 and over at Treefort Music Hall and the official afterparty at Bluebird Social.

Boise Pride is more than one weekend. The LGBTQ+ Resources page gathers crisis hotlines, including the 988 lifeline, the LGBT National Help Center youth and senior talklines, Trans Lifeline and the Trevor Project, along with help for survivors of sexual assault or abuse, a beginner's guide to attending Pride as a trans person, a list of safe trans bathrooms and ride safety tips. The Rainbow Buddy Project helps individuals and groups build new connections and make friends while attending the festival. A Fireworks Fundraiser invites donations to support the festival.

The festival is powered by fundraising, sponsorships and donations, working alongside artists, performers and local businesses that support its mission. Businesses can join the Small Business Team or become corporate sponsors, vendors can apply for a booth through the festival applications, and an annual Pride Guide lists the schedule, map and sponsors. Volunteers are welcomed through a general outreach survey that feeds the next festival's roster.
