Serves Individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, mental health diagnoses, and vulnerable seniors in East-Central IndianaDisabilityRegistered nonprofit

Achieva Resources Corporation empowers individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, mental health challenges, and vulnerable seniors to lead dignified, self-directed lives. Based on Mendleson Drive in Richmond, the nonprofit delivers community-based advocacy, adult guardianship services, and supported decision-making alternatives across a six-county region encompassing Wayne, Union, Fayette, Franklin, Henry, and Randolph counties.

The organization serves as a court-appointed legal guardian for incapacitated adults who cannot make critical financial, medical, or daily living decisions independently. Through the Volunteer Advocates for Seniors and Incapacitated Adults program, trained community volunteers visit clients regularly to monitor living conditions, build personal friendships, and ensure health and safety needs are met with compassion and dignity.

In addition to traditional guardianship, the agency champions supported decision-making as a person-centered alternative that preserves individual civil rights and personal autonomy. The organization made legal history by helping the first Indiana resident successfully terminate a guardianship in favor of a formal supported decision-making agreement. Educational outreach initiatives, family navigation sessions, and self-determination workshops equip participants and family caregivers with the practical tools to navigate state waiver systems and access essential community resources. Community members, social workers, and family caregivers seeking guardianship navigation, payee services, or advocacy assistance can contact the Richmond administrative office directly.
